Walmart said that as of July 2020 it is moving to source it is US private label canned tuna brand ‘Great Value’ from MSC fisheries or those with “time-bound” FIPs that are “actively working toward certification”.
MSCount: While we appreciate that more and more retailers are focusing on sourcing sustainable seafood, we are concerned to see that many MSC fisheries are still far from meeting these expectations. Nevertheless more and more fisheries are being certified despite substantial concerns and objections raised by NGOs and our Coalition.
